2010 RESULTS

Greetings - Though the results from the Ontario Ergometer Championships have been posted on the www.rowontario.ca web-site for almost a week, we wanted to send a short note along with the results to many of those who attended, or might be interested in seeing them.

This year had many new and better elements to the day, with the beautiful new field house facility at Ridley, big screen racing and improved registration.  We received many positive comments from athletes, coaches & spectators, and as usual we will keep trying to improve upon the event.  Next year's date is Sunday, March 6 (so you can mark your calendars now!), and we will continue with the high school categories and events as they were this year. 

We want to thank our sponsor, Val's Customized Actionwear & Embroidery for the great Top Ten T-shirts and her support for 10 years.  Her rowing gear on sale during the event gave everyone a chance to prepare for the on-water season ahead.  Thanks also to Gord Henry of Fluidesign Boats for the volunteer shirts, so that our workers were visible during the event.  We had draw prizes for all athletes (with decals from Kaschper, Hudson, Win-Tech, RowOntario, Rowing Canada; shirts & pogies & more from Concept 2, Val's and RegattaSport, posters from Ridley Grad., Rowing Canada, World Rowing 1999).  Everyone left a winner, and many had personal best times.  One new record was set in the Jr 150# men, by Jacob Giesbrecht of EL Crossley.  Thanks to Ridley College for the facilities, personnel and overall assistance.

Our many workers helped make everything run smoothly and on time.  Thanks to Ridley Graduate Boat Club members & friends for helping prepare and run the regatta.  Special thanks to Brian Thorne and Joe Vince for helping to make registration and results run smoothly.  The new Model D ergs with the PM 4 are now all sold, and the new monitor makes it great for programs who want to have racing within their own training group.  Plan to get one next year!!   See you next year, on March 6-
