The 2010 Ontario Summer Games regatta will be held in Sudbury, Ontario

 

DATES

 

August 10^th – Travel and practice day

August 11^th – Competition day (Regional teams will travel home immediately following the competition).

 

LOCATION

 

Sudbury Rowing Club

 

DISTRICT TEAM SIZE

 

6 Male Scullers, 6 Female Scullers, 2 Coxies, 1 Coach – All Scullers and Coxies must be under 17 as of December 31, 2010.

EVENTS

 

Each District will compete in the following events for Women and Men:

 

Under 17 Coxed Quad

Under 17 Double

 

 

Selection Information:

 

All athletes and coaches must be registered members of ROWONTARIO to participate at the Ontario Summer games.

 

Interested athletes and coaches must submit an expression of interest to Jessica Perry (admin@rowontario.ca) no later than May 10, 2010 at 11:59 pm EST.

 

Athlete Expressions of interest must include Name, Birthdate, Email, Home telephone, Coaches Name and email and Home Club.

 

Coach Expressions of Interest must include the following;

-      A resume

-      Home club and personal contact information

-      A detailed selection plan which should address equipment/facilities access, selection timeline, location, criteria and method (Mandatory Anthropometric data (Ht, Wt and Armspan) as well as a Watts and 1’ test must be included in the plan.

 

Coaches will be chosen upon consideration of above and the following criteria:

• Minimum Certification Level: NCCP RCA Coach Weekend 1 trained (or equivalent)
• Experience with age specific athletes.

 

The Coach Selection Committee will select each District coach by May 21, 2010.

 

Participant fees and travel subsidies have not yet been finalized.
