Do YOU believe in vegetables?
What you feed your body can make all the difference not only in your ability to train, race, coach and officiate but also in your overall energy level to do whatever it is you want to do.
At the 2004 ROWONTARIO Training Conference, Registered Dietitican and Orillia Rowing Club President Barb Pidgen gave a presentation on nutrition and rowing, including powerpoint handouts (pdf), and general tips for rowers (also pdf).
Barb's points are simple:
- go for whole grains
- try more fruits and vegetables
- make your day with low fat mik products
- pick a lean protein
- go easy on added fats
