Become a Coach! COURSE SCHEDULEBecoming a rowing coach is a great way to be a part of the sport. There are several entry points to becoming a certified rowing coach.
Learn to Row Instructor: This course is for instructors teaching Learn to Row camps or Learn to Row lessons. After completing the workshop, the instructor is designated as trained in the NCCP database. The coach must then do an evaluation to become certified. The evaluation can happen any time after attending the Learn to Row course. Certification is received after the instructor successfully passes the practical evaluation and the Coaching Associations of Canada's Make Ethical Decisions online evaluation. ** Note: This course is not for individuals coaching crews/athletes for competition. See RCA Coach. RCA Coach: This coach certification is for those coaches who will be coaching competitive athletes. The RCA Coach certification is split over two weekends. Weekend #1 introduces concepts, movement screen and an assignment for practical application. Following attending Weekend #1 coaches take time to complete their assignment and apply the knowledge. The coach can then attend Weekend #2. Following Weekend #2 the coach will be entered in to the NCCP database as trained after completing the two weekend workshops. The coach will be certified after successful completion of the RCA Coach evaluation (evaluated by a RCA accredited evaluator) and completion of the CAC Make Ethical Decisions online evaluation. |
