A Masters rower must be at least 27 years of age in the competition year. Masters racers run the gamut from late-blooming novices to former Olympians back for more competition.
 
Many Ontario regattas offer some races for masters, as these represent a growing constituency in the rowing community.
Likewise, many rowing clubs offer a designated program for Masters.

There is a yearly World Masters Regatta.
