We are looking for motivated individuals to join our team to make coaching in Ontario the best it can be!

 

The development of a comprehensive Coaching Development Strategy in Ontario has been established as one of the Association’s top priorities for 2016. One element of this program is to establish the ROWONTARIO Coaching Development Committee.

ROWONTARIO is requesting Expressions of Interest from people wishing to volunteer and participate on the ROWONTARIO Coaching Development Committee. The mandate of the committee is, To promote the participation and development of rowing coaches in Ontario.

The initial goals of the committee will be to address coach recruitment, coach retention and coach education at all levels of coaching in Ontario.

The committee will be comprised of six to eight members as well as the ROWONTARIO Director of High Performance and Coach Development who will serve as Chair. Committee members will be asked to serve a two year term on the committee with up to half of the members rotating each year. Committee members may be considered to serve more than 1 term on the Committee. The anniversary date of each term will coincide with the date of the ROWONTARIO Annual General Meeting.

In order to establish the committee in the spring of 2016, the inaugural terms will be:

3 or 4 Members – July 1, 2016 – November 30, 2017

3 or 4 Members – July 1, 2016 – November 30, 2018

The committee will meet four times per year (March, June, August and November) to address all items related to the committee mandate. The first committee meeting will be held in August, 2016. Members of the committee will be asked to participate in planning and project development as a working group to create and advance coaching programs between meetings.
