The RCA Learn to Row Instructor Workshop is a NCCP recognized 13-hour workshop that is ideal for instructors teaching Learn to Row camps or lessons. The workshop is designed to align with the Learn to Train stage of the R“CA Long Term Athlete Development/Canadian Sport for Life model”: As such, this workshop does not contain information explicitly regarding coaching crews/athletes for competition.

After completing the workshop, the instructor is designated as trained in the NCCP database. In order to receive certification, evaluation must take place via a successful practical evaluation and the completion of Make Ethical Decisions evaluation.

Instructors must participate in professional development within five years to maintain certification. This could include but is not limited to workshops relating to fitness, health, safety, rowing technique or in some cases, RCA or a provincial rowing association may make a workshop mandatory.
