RCA Coastal Coach Workshop

Rowing Canada is excited to announce the delivery of the RCA NCCP Coastal Coach Workshop. This hybrid workshop model will deliver virtual and in person (on the beach) modules in 2024.

For those interested in attending the initial virtual workshop please confirm you have met the pre-requirements including RCA Coach Weekend  #1 as outlined in the RCA Coastal Coach Pathway.

RCA Coastal Coach Workshop includes virtual curriculum facilitated by a trained NCCP Learning Facilitator, as well as practical experience in the following modules:

  1. Coastal Safety – Float Plan/Dynamic Risk Assessment
  2. Beach Entry and Exit – Boathandling
  3. Training and Race Skills
  4. Rigging
  5. Rules of Racing

Pre-requisites:

  • Active registration with RCA as a coach (membership.rowingcanada.org)
  • Register in The Locker
  • Obtain/verify Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC) and provide to your Provincial Rowing Association
  • RCA Coach Weekend #1 Workshop (including its e-learning pre-requisites)

 

Dates: Tuesday May 21 and Thursday May 23 (must attend both)

Time: 6:00 – 8:30 pm ET/3:00-5:30 pm PT

Cost: $75

Registration Deadline: Thursday May 16

Please note: This registration and fee is for the virtual component ONLY of the RCA Coastal Coach Weekend #2. Registration and fees for the in-person component will be collected separately, at a later date, when in-person opportunities are announced.

Additional virtual and In person training opportunities will be confirmed and posted throughout 2024 as we collaborate with the Provincial Rowing Associations and Learning Facilitators.

Coaches interested in attending a virtual and in person NCCP Coach workshop in the future, and have met the prerequisites, can contact their Provincial Rowing Association or Colleen Miller.
