Row Ontario Annual Awards are presented in the following categories. Each award will not need to get signed off by club president or club administrator.
Club of the Year
Presented by McLean & Dickey Insurance.
Our member clubs make rowing happen. Successful clubs are models of good organization, offer dynamic programs for all aspects of rowing, and are good role models for other clubs to aspire to.
Nominations for Club of the Year will no longer be limited to member clubs having to nominate themselves. Row Ontario has recognized that many Ontario rowing clubs do not nominate themselves for Club of the Year. Row Ontario has suggested a more holistic approach in nominating and scoring for Club of the Year.
This holistic approach to nominating Club of the Year Includes:
- Row Ontario internal scoring in the areas of High Performance, Sport Development & Governance and Compliance (based on the criteria below);
- Online questionnaire and scoring
- Any Ontario rowing participant can nominate their rowing club OR nominate other rowing clubs
- Will not need to get signed off by club president or club administrator
Row Ontario would like to best capture the Club of the Year but felt that the previous scorning and nomination process was limiting.
The two scoring portions of the nomination process (internal scoring & online questionnaire) will be tallied. The online questionnaire will be scored at the discretion of the Awards Committee.
