The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Ontario Rowing Association (ORA) will be held as follows:
Date: Saturday, December 1st, 2018
Time: 5:00 PM ET
Location: Delta Hotels Toronto Airport & Conference Centre (655 Dixon Rd, Toronto, ON)
All member clubs, as defined by ORA By-Law 8.03, must designate their voting delegate prior to the AGM. To do so, please complete and return the Member Declaration & Registration Form as outlined on the form to the ORA office by 4:00 PM ET Thursday, November 29th, 2018. If not submitted electronically by Thursday, November 29th, 2018 at 4 PM ET, the form may be brought to the AGM check-in table between 3:45 PM ET and 4:45 PM ET on Saturday, December 1st, 2018.
Member Club Voting Eligibility
All member clubs, must be in good standing with the ORA by Saturday, December 1st, 2018 at 5:00 PM ET to be eligible to vote. To be considered in good standing and eligible to vote at the AGM, member clubs will:
- have no outstanding invoices (31+ days overdue);
- have paid the annual membership fee; and
- have completed the 2018 Club Membership Application.
Any member club at risk of being placed in not in good standing status, and therefore, ineligible to vote at the AGM, will be notified by the ORA office the week of November 12th, 2018.
Slate of Directors
The Nominating Sub-Committee presents the following Slate of Directors for election at the AGM. There are four director vacancies to be filled:

• Margy Braga – seeking re-election
• Amanda Schweinbenz – seeking re-election
• Christopher Waddell – seeking re-election
In accordance with ORA By-Law 2.03, other candidates may also seek election to the Board of Directors. For further information on this process, please visit the Slate of Directors posting.
AGM attendees can take advantage of a reduced night rate of $129.00 (plus applicable taxes and fees) at the Delta Hotels Toronto Airport & Conference Centre if they book their rooms by Monday, November 5th, 2018. Bookings can be made online here or by phone (416-244-1711) using ROW as a call in code.
Member Clubs located within a 60km radius of the hosting hotel are not eligible for hotel room reimbursement. Member Clubs located outside of the 60km radius are eligible to apply for reimbursement of one hotel room for Friday, November 30th, 2018 or Saturday, December 1st, 2018 for their voting delegate. The Member Club must meet the AGM’s voting eligibility requirements and the voting delegate must attend the AGM to be eligible for reimbursement. Reimbursement request forms will be available at the AGM check-in desk.
Conference Registration Reminder
Our annual conference, offered in partnership with Ontario Sailing, will run from 8:00 AM ET to 3:45 PM ET prior to the Awards and AGM on Saturday, December 1st, 2018. This is a great professional development opportunity for coaches and club administrators, as well as an ideal time to network with others.
