The Row to Podium program is the term used to describe Rowing Canada Aviron’s (RCA) Athlete Development Program.
Below includes an overview of each topic and ROWONTARIO’s relationship with each.
The Under 23 National Team competes once a year at the Under 23 World Championships held at an international venue. The 2016 Under 23 World Championships will take place in Rotterdam, Holland on August 21-28.
The 2016 RCA Under 23 Selection Trials have taken place in Welland, Ontario on May 14-19. Ontario Under 23 eligible athletes that have been invited for further assessment include:

The Junior National Team will be competing at the Junior World Championships, an international event held once a year. For 2016, the Junior World Championships will take place in Rotterdam, Holland on August 21-28.
The 2016 RCA Junior Selection Trials will take place June 6-9 in Welland, Ontario. We will be updating you on the Ontario athletes that have moved forward and take one step closer to representing Canada.
The Talent Development Centre provides a high performance training environemtn for targeted atheltes who have been identified through a series of specific tests. These athletes have been identiifed as those with potentialfor international podium performances in the next 5-8 years. Athletes will spend 1-3 years in the TDC before moving on to the NDC or NTC (National Training Centre).
ROWONTARIO has 3 Talent Development Centres:
- London, Ontario
- St. Catharines, Ontario
- Peterborough, Ontario
and a Satellite TDC in Sudbury, Ontario.
The National Development Centre has been established to support athltetes that are bridging the gap between Club/University/TDC programs and the Senior National Team.
