Become a Coach

Interested in coaching rowing in Ontario or furthering your coach development, but not sure the process? You have come to the right place!


Getting Started

Once you have made the commitment to coaching and are registered with a Row Ontario Member Club in the “Coach” role, you have access to resources and support from Row Ontario along your pathway, including:

  • Row Ontario staff support in navigating your coach pathway. Registered coaches may contact Row Ontario. We will be happy to assist with your coach development!
  • NCCP Locker to track your training and certification with the National Coaching Certification Program. Register today to receive your NCCP # or log-in to ensure your profile is up to date!
  • RCA Coach Education Database to create your personal coaching portfolio and access all rowing NCCP course material. You will be automatically registered upon your registration in a coaching workshop!

As outlined in the Row Ontario Coach Certification Policy, as of April 1, 2021 all coaches are expected to complete the following components prior to coaching:

Active “Coach” role registration with a Row Ontario Member Club. Annual Rowing Canada Web Registration System
Pleasure Craft Operators Card and any other related certification locally required. Initial Certification Only Tracked by Club
Enhanced Police Information Check or Vulnerable Sector Screening*
*Minimally, a VSS is required if supervising participants under the age of 18.
