Entries Open for Row Ontario Small Boat Regatta

In just over two weeks Row Ontario will host their first Small Boat Regatta since 2019. The event will take place on the South Course of the Welland International Flatwater Centre on Saturday, May 14.

The Small Boat Regatta is an ideal event for rowers of all ages and abilities to test themselves over 2000m. The 2022 regatta will also serve as the on-water measure for U19 athletes attempting selection to the RCA U19 Team. Performance at the Small Boat Regatta will also play a role in determining which aspiring Canada Summer Games athletes will be invited into the Final Selection camp.

“The Row Ontario Small Boat Regatta is an important event in our regatta calendar, and we’re excited to be hosting it again in Welland on May 14,” said Chris Marshall, Row Ontario’s Director of Rowing. “It’s a great early season test in the single and pair for all rowers, and with the event serving as an important regatta for athletes attempting to qualify for both national and provincial level teams, we’ll definitely be in store for some high-quality rowing.”

Rowers will compete in either singles or pairs in a time trial to finals (A, B, C +) format. For the first time the event will also feature a semi-final. For more information on the format of the event and for all other regatta information, please see the Regatta Package at the below link:
