Call for Nominations – Row Ontario Annual Awards & Hall of Fame
Row Ontario is sending out the ‘Call for Nominations’ for the Row Ontario Annual Awards and Hall of Fame.
Annual Awards
Row Ontario’s annual awards program recognizes and honours the outstanding contributions and individual achievements of clubs, athletes, coaches, umpires and volunteers in the sport of rowing in Ontario.
The Call for Nominations includes the following awards eligible for nomination:
- Athlete of the Year – Nomination Form
- Competitive Coach of the Year – Nomination Form
- Recreational/Learn to Row Coach of the Year – Nomination Form
- Performance of the Year – Nomination Form
Please note that the Claude Saunders Award and the HS Bursary Award will not be given out this year. Other awards included in the Awards Policy that are not listed above are not eligible for public nomination. Row Ontario will be sending a separate communication to all member clubs and organizations regarding long service awards and volunteer certificates. Stay tuned for that.
Nominations can come from any member of the Ontario rowing community, including a Row Ontario member club, a Row Ontario Board of Director/ Staff/ Committee representative and/or other rowing stakeholder. Prior to submitting a nomination form, please review the below Awards Policy. A candidate’s worthiness for an Award will be judged based off the criteria in the Awards Policy and the nomination form should speak to the criteria listed in the Awards Policy:
The deadline for submissions for the 2025 Awards is Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026. Nomination forms should be submitted to Communications and Events Manager, Frank Christie at frank@rowontario.ca.
Hall of Fame
New this year, we are opening the nomination process for the Hall of Fame earlier than normal to encourage more nominations. After six outstanding HOF classes we need your help in nominating more deserving individuals for the Hall of Fame!
The Row Ontario Hall of Fame to recognizes and honours the outstanding contributions and individual achievements in the sport of rowing in Ontario. Members of the Ontario rowing community are encouraged to nominate worthy candidates who have not already been nominated for induction into the Hall of Fame (see the list of previously submitted nominees here). Any member of the Ontario rowing community can submit a nomination form including Ontario member clubs and participants, a Row Ontario Board of Director/ Staff/ Committee representative and/or other rowing stakeholder. Self-nominations are not permitted.
In order to submit a nomination for a Hall of Fame Candidate, the below nomination form must be filled out in FULL for the candidate to be considered for the Row Ontario Hall of Fame:
We will be accepting new nominations until Friday, July 31, 2026 and should be submitted via email to Frank Christie at frank@rowontario.ca.
Prior to submitting a nomination form, please review the below Hall of Fame Selection Policy. A candidate’s worthiness for the Hall of Fame will be judged based off the criteria in the Selection Policy and the nomination form should speak to the criteria listed in the Selection Policy:
Nomination forms will only be eligible for consideration if: complete, received by the stated deadline, and are accurate and truthful.
