Call for Expressions of Interest – Row Ontario Regattas

Row Ontario is seeking expressions of interest from individuals who are interested in filling the following positions for the 2022 Tony Biernacki Sr. Memorial Regatta; the 2022 RowOn Masters Championships Regatta; and the 2022 RowOn Championships Regatta:

Tony Biernacki Sr. Memorial Regatta
Date: June 18
Location: Welland, North Course
Positions Available (2): Regatta Chair, Chief Umpire

RowOn Masters Championship Regatta
Date: July 10
Location: Welland, North Course
Positions Available (3): Regatta Chair, Chief Umpire, Associate Chief Umpire

RowOn Championship Regatta
Date: July 23-24
Location: Welland, South Course
Positions Available (4): Regatta Chair, Chief Umpire, Deputy Chief Umpire, Associate Chief Umpire

Candidate Profile
This is an opportunity for an experienced, approachable leader who knows how to delegate effectively, enjoys collaborating with an expert team, can identify tasks that need doing and is willing to do them, and has refined oral and written communication skills that will enable them to effectively engage with the Row Ontario Staff and Organizing Committee.

Regatta Chair:

• Minimum of 3 years as a Regatta Chair of other regattas.
• Ability to commit to be in the position for 2-years (ideal but not required)

Chief Umpire / Deputy Chief Umpire:

• Minimum of 5 years umpiring experience, including 3 years active experience as a Chief Umpire.
• Ability to commit to be in the position as CU only or 2-years (ideal but not required)

Associate Chief Umpire:

• Minimum of 3 years umpiring experience, including having completed a Level 3 Chief Umpire Clinic.

All Positions:

• In-depth understanding of the RCA Rules of Racing.
• Experience facilitating meetings.
• Strong administrative skills.
• Demonstrated experience working in a team environment.
• Experience umpiring at the regatta of choice and/or at other regattas at the host venue will be considered an asset.

Compensation

• There is a $250.00 honorarium for the Chief Umpire and Regatta Chair for each event (per day)
• Mileage will be covered to and from the regatta.
• Accommodations will be covered if required.
• A meal per diem will be provided for meals not provided.

• details of your involvement in rowing and umpiring, and indicate how your experience, expertise and attributes align with the candidate profile described above.
