Row Ontario Staff Update
Dear Row Ontario Member Clubs and Organizations,
We are writing to share that after eight years with Row Ontario, Chris Marshall will be leaving the organization at the end of December to pursue an exciting new career opportunity.
Chris has been a cornerstone of our high-performance initiatives, and his leadership was instrumental in the development of the Ontario NextGen Development Program and Performance Centre, which has provided aspiring athletes with enhanced training and services to help them advance along the pathway to success. His contributions have shaped the future of rowing in Ontario and will leave a lasting legacy.
As we move forward, Row Ontario will take the necessary time to carefully assess our needs before beginning the search for a new hire. In the interim, Performance Director Phil Marshall will assume the role of Interim Lead Coach to ensure continuity and support for the ONGPC athletes.
“One person’s loss is another one’s gain, and Chis leaving Row Ontario is no different,” said Andrew Backer, CEO of Row Ontario. “Over his eight years with Row Ontario, Chris has been instrumental in the efforts to re-shape who Row Ontario is, and how we support the growth and development of our sport. We are sad to see Chris leave but are thrilled for him personally at the opportunity ahead of him.”
Please join us in thanking Chris for his dedication and wishing him all the best in this exciting next chapter.
Yours in rowing,
Row Ontario
