The high school regatta season gets off to an early start this weekend as the Early Bird Regatta will be hosted on Sunday from Henley Island.
Sunday will mark the first time the annual regatta has been hosted since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The St. Catharines Rowing Club will again play host to the invitational regatta, which will feature high school aged rowers competing in singles, pairs, doubles, fours, quads, and eights. The action will start at 8am on Sunday and will wrap up just after 11am.
The regatta will feature high school rowing teams from St. Catharines as well as Niagara region communities such as Beamsville, Niagara Falls, Fort Erie and Grimsby. A total of 13 high school rowing teams will compete in the event.
