Expression of Interest: Co-Host Community Clubs for the 2027 RowOn Beach Sprints Cup Series

Following a record-breaking year for Beach Sprints participation in Ontario, Row Ontario is seeking expressions of interest from community rowing clubs to partner as co-hosts for the 2027 RowOn Beach Sprints Cup Series.

As rowing continues to grow in Ontario, Row Ontario is seeking partnerships with clubs committed to delivering high-quality events while expanding participation opportunities for athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers.

The RowOn Beach Sprints Cup Series provides Community Clubs with the opportunity to play an active role in the development of this exciting discipline by supporting event operations, promoting local participation, and helping create exceptional racing experiences within their communities.

This partnership model is intended to be collaborative, with selected partners working alongside Row Ontario to host and deliver successful events throughout the season.

Expectations of Co-Host Community Clubs

  • Participating Community Clubs will be expected to support the planning and delivery of their assigned event by:
  • Recruiting and coordinating event volunteers;
  • Promoting the event within their community and encouraging participation;
  • Providing entries from their club to support event growth and competitive racing opportunities;
  • Assisting with on-site event logistics, including event setup, operations, and teardown as required;
  • Hosting and running a free ‘Come and Try It” session on the beach so members of the community can try rowing;
  • Working collaboratively with Row Ontario staff to ensure a high-quality participant experience.

Selection Process

Interested clubs are invited to submit an expression of interest outlining:

  • Their interest in hosting a Beach Sprints Cup Series event;
  • Their capacity to recruit volunteers and support event operations;
  • Their ability to encourage athlete participation from their community;
  • The quality and viability of the beach they propose for the event;
  • Any relevant experience hosting regattas or community events.

Following the receipt of expressions of interest, Row Ontario will review submissions and identify up to four or five partner Community Clubs. Selected communities will then enter discussions with Row Ontario to work toward a partnership agreement outlining roles, responsibilities, and event-specific requirements.

How to Express Interest

Community Clubs interested in becoming a co-host partner are invited to submit their expression of interest to Iain Wilson at iain@rowontario.ca by December 1st , 2026.

We look forward to working with communities across Ontario to continue growing rowing and creating exciting racing opportunities for athletes, coaches, volunteers, and communities.
