Indoor Rowing Day in Canada is Back in 2023!

Indoor Rowing Day in Canada is organized by the Provincial Advisory Committee (PAC). Any questions regarding the event should be directed to indoorrowingdayincanada@gmail.com.

Clubs and indoor rowing enthusiasts across Canada are invited to be part of Indoor Rowing Day in Canada! This exciting national event consists of getting on a rowing machine and ROWING on Saturday, February 11, 2023, between 9 am and noon where you live.

Indoor Rowing Day is open to everyone, from Olympians to first-timers, CrossFitters to you on your home rower! Every kilometre counts as the participants attempt to travel 5,514 kms from the Atlantic to the Pacific.

It’s EASY to take part. Let the Provincial Advisory Council (PAC) know what you have planned in advance or just join on the day. Send the photos and videos when you start and finish. And add to the National Tally by emailing them your number of participants and total kilometres rowed.

Newfoundland and Labrador will kick the day off in style, as they have since the first event in 2020. Last year, all 10 provinces participating, with 343 participants and 3,370 kilometres, with the COVID-19 pandemic still putting a damper on group events.

In the first year, in February 2020, Canadian rowers proved they were more than up to the challenge as the tally for the day was an impressive 7,567km, exceeding the coast to coast goal by 2,053km. The goal in 2023 is to beat the 2020 numbers! Let’s do this Canada.

Let the PAC know what they can do to help you set up your unique Indoor Rowing Day event. Then contribute your photos, videos, participant numbers and total kilometres rowed to the national tally as we go from coast to coast to coast!!

Co-organizers of the event are Nancy Russell, Rowing Prince Edward Island and Peter Walsh, Alberta Rowing, on behalf of PAC – the Provincial Advisory Council.
