Row Ontario and Ontario Sailing Announce Expansion to Collaborative Strategy
Ontario Sailing and Row Ontario are pleased to announce an expansion to our collaborative
strategy to support the growth and development of our Member Clubs.
After over five years employing one COAST Manager, Lisa Roddie, who supports both organizations, Ontario Sailing and Row Ontario are pleased to announce that we are doubling the human resources to provide the services and support to our 200+ Member Clubs across the province.
Within the coming days Row Ontario will be releasing a job posting to hire a Manager,
Membership. The successful candidate for this position will be working in conjunction with Lisa
Roddie. Collectively they will work with the Member Clubs in both sports to provide support on Club Governance and Operations, while also focusing on initiatives to make our sports more inclusive, diverse, and equitable.
“The sport landscape has changed dramatically over the past five years” said Andrew Backer, CEO of Row Ontario. “Beyond the support required through COVID, the ongoing challenges our Member Clubs are facing continues to increase, with ONCA, human resource supports, Safe Sport etc. To properly support our Member Clubs, we knew we needed more resources.”
“Lisa has been a tremendous asset to both organizations and their member clubs over the past
five years,” said Glenn Lethbridge, Executive Director, Ontario Sailing. “It’s the right time to expand on that great work so we can increase the support and services to the amazing Member Clubs in both sports across the province.”
More details on how the growth in this area will evolve and impact the members of both sports will be forthcoming, but this change is part of the commitment from both provincial sport organizations to continue to provide increased support to the foundation of our sports, the Member Clubs in partnership.
