Row Ontario Announces 2025 Canada Cup Team
In just over two weeks the Canada Cup Regatta will return to the Canadian rowing schedule and on Tuesday Row Ontario announced the members of Team Ontario for the nationwide event.
The Canada Cup Regatta will take place from Aug. 14-16 on Lake Fanshawe in London, ON and will feature Team Ontario competing for the Canada Cup Trophy against other provinces. Boat categories for the event will include the men’s and women’s single and pair, which will be contested over 2000m, the men’s and women’s double and four, which will run over 1000m, and the mixed 4x and 8+ which will be an exciting 500m sprint to the finish line. The Canada Cup is an Under-21 event and this year’s event will mark the first Canada Cup hosted since 2019.
“Row Ontario would like to congratulate all the athletes and coaches named to Team Ontario for the 2025 Canada Cup,” said Phil Marshall, Row Ontario Performance Director. “It’s going to be an exciting regatta and we’re looking forward to seeing Team Ontario race in our home province against the rest of the country.”
The Team Ontario contingent will consist of 17 rowers (8 men, 8 women, 1 coxswain) from across the province and will be coached by Liz Iannizzi (St. Catharines Rowing Club) and Meghan Jolley (Ottawa Rowing Club).
