Position: Canada Summer Games Assistant Coach(s).
Number of positions: Up to three (3) positions may be available.

As one of our Canada Summer Games Provincial Coaches you will contribute to the advancement of the best U21 rowers the Province of Ontario has to offer. You will help deliver a program designed to support and provide opportunities for these athletes to compete against the top U21 athletes in Canada in the Canada Summer Games, Niagara 2022.
About the Canada Summer Games:
The 2022 Canada Summer Games will take place in the Niagara region from August 6-21, 2022. Rowing is a week two sport and competition will be held on the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta course from August 17th to the 21st. The Canada Summer Games are Canada’s largest multi-sport event will bring more than 6,000 athletes, coaches, and support staff to the region. Ontario has a strong history of performance in the games and rowing has been one of the sport leaders in this regard. We look to make Niagara 2022 the “best ever” event for Ontario rowers and coaches and to continue our legacy of high performance at this event.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements Include:
- Be available to attend the 2022 Canada Summer Games for the duration of the event.
- Be available to centralize for final preparations and or engage on weekends during training camps.
- Liaise with selected athlete’s, their parent’s, and their current coaches to ensure a seamless continuation of training as we transition into Team Ontario.
- Work with selected athlete’s coaches to create and deliver an effective training/preparation plan.
- Provide coaching to crews/athletes as required and assigned by the Head Coach.
Essential Skills required:
- RCA Performance Coach Certified.
- Fully vaccinated (COVID-19) as per CSG COVID-19 Guidelines
- Pleasure Craft Operators card.
- Valid First Aid Certificate.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- Up to date Criminal Records check upon hire.
- Completed Safe Sport training module.
- Completed Making Ethical Decisions and Respect in Sport Online modules.
- Ability and experience working as part of an effective coaching team.
- Experience Coaching and Developing athletes to success in the U19, U21 and U23 age groups. Experience with other age groups would be advantageous.
