Row Ontario Releases Canada Cup Selection Guidelines
The Canada Cup Regatta returns to the Canadian rowing calendar this year and Row Ontario released the Team Selection Guidelines for the event on Friday.
The 2025 RCA Canada Cup Regatta will be held in London, ON at the Doug Wells Rowing Centre from August 11th to 17th, with racing taking place from the 15th to 17th. Teams will have the opportunity to train on location at Lake Fanshawe prior to racing, creating valuable development opportunities and a chance to train alongside other provinces and competitors before official racing begins. The regatta will be hosted by the Western University Boat Club.
Each participating province can bring a maximum team of 17 athletes – 8 male, 8 female, and 1 coxswain of either gender. The regatta features singles, doubles, pairs, fours, and mixed-gender quads and eights competing over distances of 500m to 2000m. The age eligibility for team members is Under-21 (born in 2005 or later).
Athlete Expression of Interest
All interested athletes (Rowers and Coxswains) are required to complete the “Athlete Expression of Interest” form at the below link Athletes that attain RCA selection (U23 World Championship Team or U19 World Championship Team) must indicate their commitment to compete for Team Ontario as well.
