
Row Ontario Seeks Assistant Coach for the Ontario Academy of Rowing
With the Ontario Academy of Rowing now in operation, Row Ontario is launching an extensive search to find an Assistant Coach for the Academy to work alongside head coach Dr. Amanda Schweinbenz.
The Ontario Academy of Rowing Assistant Coach will be responsible for leading the activities of the de-centralized athlete group (up to 50 athletes) and assisting with the centralized athlete group in a manner consistent with Row Ontario’s Vision, Mission and Values. The Assistant Coach will have the opportunity to contribute to creating an environment for success and performance and will play a role in the formation of the program from the ground up. This includes program design, athlete recruiting, assessment, monitoring initiatives, year-long training programs (YTP), Individual Athlete Performance Plans (IAPP), and training and racing opportunities. The Assistant Coach will lead the de-centralized athlete group and will work closely with the Ontario Academy of Rowing Head Coach, the Manager, High Performance and other Row Ontario Staff to deliver a Program of Excellence.
The Row Ontario Performance Centre (ROPC) opened in September 2020. The ROPC is home to the Ontario Academy of Rowing and Row Ontario’s proprietary regatta hosting initiatives. The ROPC is located in Welland, Ontario. The ROPC will also play host to Row Ontario Provincial Team training including the 2021 Canada Summer Games team. The Centre may also host RCA or foreign national teams during training or preparation camps.

Pay Level: $40,000 – $50,000; commensurate with experience, less statutory deductions. While workload will vary from month-to-month, pay will be issued equally twice a month for the duration of the contract.
