Virtual NCCP Coach Workshops Planned in 2021

Row Ontario and RCA are excited to kick off the new year with the return to NCCP Coach Development online. Staff and NCCP Coach Developers have been hard at work behind the scenes to transform the RCA Coach Weekend #1 and LTR Coach workshops into meaningful virtual learning opportunities that retain the competency-based methodology that makes the NCCP a global leader in coach education.

In the process, RCA Coach Weekend #1 has been reviewed and updated, including a new technical model, a more robust module on supporting athletes in competition (related to the Rules of Racing), and better alignment with the workshop prerequisites introduced in 2019.

While we look forward to returning to in-person learning and collaboration, Row Ontario is excited to offer these virtual workshops early in 2021. Both workshops are in the final stages of preparation and coach developers have already begun training on how to deliver effectively in a virtual space.

Important: All coaches MUST have the following workshop prerequisites complete to be able to participate in an NCCP workshop – virtual or in-person – No exceptions!

Available through the ‘eLearning’ tab in your Locker:

  • NCCP Coach Initiation in Sport
  • RCA Rowing Essentials

Available through the Coaches Association of Ontario:

  • NCCP Making Ethical Decisions*

*Coaches may also apply to take the discounted workshop as part of the RCA Conference or can challenge the evaluation without taking the training, through the eLearning tab in the Locker.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to continue your coach development! Virtual workshop dates will be announced on the Row Ontario website when available.
