Row Ontario Staff Update
Row Ontario announced on Thursday two additions to the staff team as Grant Boyd was named as High Performance Manager and Tara Federow was named as Domestic Rowing Coordinator.
Boyd joins Row Ontario after spending 18 years as Head Rowing Coach at Upper Canada College. During his time at UCC, Boyd led the Blues rowing program to become one of the top high school rowing programs in the country, producing national championship crews in various boat classes every spring. Many of the athletes he coached have gone on to success at higher levels of the sport, including top-level university programs in Canada and the USA and competing on Junior and Senior World Championship teams. In addition to his coaching role at UCC, Boyd was also heavily involved in training program development, athlete management and development, human resource management related to a large volunteer coaching staff, budget and equipment management, as well as alumni relations. Prior to arriving at UCC, Boyd also served as a Provincial Head Coach with Row Ontario, Head Coach/Jr. and Sr. Women’s Coach at the South Niagara Rowing Club and Assistant Rowing Coach at Mercyhurst College.
Federow is a former Division I rower with Canisius College where she was the recipient of the Athletic and Academic Scholar in 2020 and 2021. She holds two degrees from Canisius, a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Media Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Sports and Fitness Management, as well as a Master of Science in Sport Product Development. During her time at Cansius, Federow also worked in the Kinesiology Department as an Administrative Assistant and as a Graduate Assistant within the Sport Information Department. She joins Row Ontario after working most recently within member services at the White Oaks Conference Resort and Spa in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Boyd and Federow will begin their positions with Row Ontario in January.
